Sweet Success: Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital’s Cookie Bake Off Fundraiser for Sherry’s Run
Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital put the FUN in fundraiser by hosting a Cookie Bake Off and Sherry’s Run Sign-up Day on September 4th, 2024! Employees at the hospital were encouraged to bake cookies and enter them into the bake-off. Twenty-nine different cookies were entered to compete for the title of “Best Cookie”. After the six judges carefully tasted each cookie, the top three winners were named! Kat Paige came in 1st place with her caramel cheesecake cookies, Lynn Taylor’s strawberry shortcake cookies came in 2nd place, and Cynthia Sadlo’s pecan tarts came in 3rd place!
All twenty-nine cookies and dozens more that were donated but not entered into the competition were available for purchase by employees for $1! Many excitedly came by and bought cookies- some buying one or two for a treat and others buying boxes full for their coworkers. As employees purchased their cookies, they could sign up for Sherry’s Run, donate to the organization, and grab some Sherry’s Hope swag! The fundraiser lasted for two hours and was a tremendous success! After counting each dollar from donations and cookie purchases, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital presented Sherry’s Hope with $645! Talk about a sweet donation that will go back to Sherry’s Hope to assist families in Wilson County and surrounding communities with expenses caused by cancer!
Sherry’s Hope is so grateful for the efforts put into such a great day by Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital staff. It was a fun way to raise money and get people excited about Sherry’s Run, which will be held on September 14th at 8AM at 623 W Main St in Lebanon!
