Paint the Town Green: Get Ready for Sherry’s Run!

If you look throughout Wilson County, you have probably seen bright green bows hanging all around! So, what do these bows mean? Why are they important? Lime green bows are a bright reminder that Sherry’s Run is approaching! Supporters display them on their businesses and homes to get the conversation started and get others involved in the 5K event. Green bows also are seen prominently throughout Lebanon to mark the way of the race course!

While they are bright and beautiful to look at, the bows are so much more than just decorations- they represent Sherry’s Hope’s largest fundraiser of the year. All of the proceeds from Sherry’s Run benefits Sherry’s Hope. Sherry’s Hope is a local, faith based nonprofit that provides financial assistance to families in Wilson County and surrounding communities who are seeking treatment or in hospice care for a current cancer diagnosis. In 2023, Sherry’s Hope was blessed to assist 135 families with over $300,000 in assistance. Assistance is provided for expenses caused by the patient’s cancer diagnosis. Examples of assistance include medical expenses, prescription assistance, housing payments, utility bills, and grocery assistance.

The 21st annual Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk will be held on September 14th, 2024 at 8 AM at 623 West Main St. in Lebanon. You can get your own green bow to display at the Sherry’s Hope office or at any Wilson Bank & Trust located in Lebanon for a donation of $10 or more.
