Tennova “Team Drive” Big Success!

unnamed.jpg

Last Thursday, August 25, Tennova hosted a “Team Drive” to encourage their employees to get registered for Sherry’s Run.

Team Captain, Traci Pope, along with her “partner in crime”, Heather White, did a great job making this a fun and successful event.

Computers were setup for online registration and they also took registrations by paper form and donations. Of course, it wouldnt’ be a party without a little yummy food: popcorn, hot dogs and cookies. But the best part was the photo booth with “Peyton Manning.”

More than 25 registered for the Tennova team that day. Thank you so much to Tennova for sponsoring and to each employee who registered. You are making a difference in the lives of your neighbors battling cancer!

Have you registered yet?

Faith, courage, optimism and a desire to help others were qualities that defined Sharon “Sherry” Patterson Whitaker. Both before and after the energetic wife and mother was diagnosed with colon cancer, the impression she made on her family, friends and community was undeniable. While her battle in the flesh was lost in 2004, the spirit she had shown throughout life continues to touch more lives every day. Because of Sherry’s Run, a 5K run/walk benefit organized in Sherry’s memory, area cancer victims and their families can make strides toward becoming cancer survivors, and researchers are a small step closer to stopping the disease for good.
