Sherry’s Run New Auction Items
Sherry’s Hope is truly making a difference in the lives of families who are battling cancer. The 20th annual Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk is approaching on September 9th and is Sherry’s Hope’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Funds raised by the event help cancer patients who are in need of assistance right here in our community. One of the highlights of the Annual Sherry’s Run event is the silent auction. Sherry’s Run Auction Committee Chair, Tammye Whitaker, and her committee work many hours throughout the year to secure contributions from very generous area supporters. The auction is a crowd-pleaser, and this year’s items are among some of the more unique to the event. The committee will have a large variety of auction items for participants to choose from.
This year, there has been an added collection of items donated with the male audience in mind. “We have talked about having a “Man Cave” section for a couple of years,” Sherry’s Run Auction Committee Co-Chair, Gary Whitaker explained. “Our issue is always the same, who can head this up? Jeff Hallums has gone above and beyond. We have everything from power tools, a Pit Boss Smoker, a Kubota Zero Turn Mower, and all things in between. All together there will be 4 or 5 tables full of items. This will be a great addition to all of the fabulous items we always have.” Sherry’s Hope is so grateful for all of the many wonderful contributions to the silent auction from businesses and people in our community! The support of the community is a huge part of what makes all aspects of the event so special.
