LEBANON, TENN. – September 23, 2012 -- Friendship Christian School student, Alex Johnson, who has skeletal dysplasia and is usually wheel chair bound, inspired the school and the community by showing his abilities.
At the 2012 Sherry's Run, Alex inspired the crowd by walking the last 30 yards of the run. Alex had tremendous support. Older brother Michael and friend and Friendship Christian School Coach Greg Armstrong, who pushed Alex for the first three miles of the Run, were his partners in spearheading “Team Alex.” It was an inspiring and joyful sight to see the raw determination in his face as he crossed the finish line with his team members cheering him on. The team was awarded the "Most Team Spirit" Award for the 2012 Sherry's Run.
The support of Friendship Christian School was tremendous - they raised $2,404 in t-shirt sales that were donated to the Sherry's Run organization. To read Alex’s story, click here.
