The highlight of the 13th annual Sherry’s Run event came after the runners had crossed the finish line and the national anthem had been sung. In the early morning of September 10, while most of Lebanon was still sleeping, hundreds of volunteers joined hands in a circle to pray for the thousands of people who would soon be joining them to support the beloved community event known as Sherry’s Run. As Scott Jasper, Race Director, prayed he remembered all of those who have fought and are currently fighting this dreaded disease: cancer. He prayed for the hundreds of patients and their families that Sherry’s Run serves each year. And, finally he offered thanks for the overwhelming support of the Wilson County community for their neighbors fighting cancer.
