17th Annual Sherry’s Run – Your Run Gives Hope
While this year’s Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk looked different since it was a virtual event, it was still an amazing day with individuals, families and teams across the county, state and country showing support for families battling cancer.
The Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Sherry’s Run organization. This year more than $185,000 was raised from the event.
“So far in 2020 the Sherry’s Run organization has provided financial assistance to 107 families in Wilson County and the surrounding communities,” said Alisa Eakes, patient assistance director for the Sherry’s Run organization. “This is financial assistance we are able to provide to families battling cancer because of the support and generosity of individuals, businesses, churches, schools and civic groups. It’s the run registration fees, donations and sponsorships that pay bills for these families and help relieve some of the burden of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.” 300 people from 10 states and the District of Columbia participated in the 17th Annual Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk. There were 60 teams who participated in the event.
Be sure to save the date for the 18th Annual Sherry’s Run 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 11, 2021!
