LOCHINVAR PRESENTS $15,000 SPONSORSHIP CHECK TO SHERRY’S RUN

5K run/walk Slated for September 11, 2010

LEBANON, TENN. – July 23, 2010 – Lochinvar officials presented Sherry’s Run with a sponsorship check for $15,000.  Gary Whitaker, Sherry’s Run Executive Board Member states, “We thank Lochinvar for their generosity and support of Sherry’s Run.  Through the efforts of Lochinvar and many other generous Sherry’s Run supporters, we strive to make a difference each day – one person at a time.”

“Sherry’s Run provides a tremendous service to the people of Wilson County during an extremely difficult time in their lives and we consider it a privilege to contribute to such a worthwhile cause on behalf of the employees of Lochinvar Corporation,” stated Bob Lancaster, Vice President, Human Resources.

Whitaker continues, “Sherry’s Run funds go to help individuals and their families during some of the hardest times of their lives.  We are committed to being good stewards of the funds donated.  We agree that more research dollars are needed, and support that; but, we also realize that there are folks in our own community who need our help and it is important that we help them.  This mission, coupled with our emphasis on education and early detection, offers a multitude of ways to make a difference right here at home.”

The mission of Sherry’s Run is to benefit those affected by cancer, with an emphasis on colon cancer.  Sherry’s Run (www.sherrysrun.org) is a 501 (c) (3) organization.  It was started in memory of Sharon “Sherry” Patterson Whitaker who died at the age of 44 from colon cancer. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online.  Funds received serve also to help those locally who suffer with cancer.
